La Plume is a borough located in Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania, United States. It has a population of around 500 people and covers an area of 1.1 square miles. La Plume is located approximately 8 miles northwest of Scranton, Pennsylvania, and is part of the Scranton–Wilkes-Barre–Hazleton Metropolitan Statistical Area.
La Plume is home to Keystone College, a private liberal arts college founded in 1868. The borough also has a historic train station built in 1909, which currently serves as the headquarters for the Lackawanna Heritage Valley Authority. The surrounding area offers a range of outdoor recreational activities, including hiking, biking, and fishing in nearby lakes and rivers.
La Plume has a rich history dating back to the 1800s when it was a stop on the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad.
